Bite Check: Detecting Malocclusions in Dogs and Cats
Do dogs really get braces? The answer is: sometimes! Every patient deserves a comfortable, pain-free bite, and addressing malocclusions that cause trauma is essential for their well-being. In this lecture, we’ll begin by defining what constitutes a normal occlusion in both dogs and cats. From there, we’ll delve into the various classes of malocclusions, helping veterinary professionals accurately identify and differentiate these conditions. Finally, we’ll explore the appropriate treatment options for each class of malocclusion, ensuring you can provide the best care for your patients. Malocclusions can be recognized by technicians, and we can play a vital role in helping our patients live a pain free life.
