The Diet Trial is a Diagnostic Test
Meagan R. Painter, DVM, DACVD will lead a one-hour seminar on how to understand the elimination diet trial as a diagnostic test when approaching the allergic patient. Specifics of her talk will include a review of the food allergy phenotype, best practices for diet selection, strategies for improving owner compliance, and a current review of the literature. A strong focus will be placed on introducing practical solutions that help general practitioners improve diagnostic outcome after a diet trial is prescribed. Numerous case studies will be presented to highlight these concepts. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss cases as time allows.

Cade Wilson is a practicing full-time small animal veterinarian, the Sole Owner of a mixed-animal three doctor veterinary hospital, the President and Co-Founder of Skoped Micro, a Consultant for Veterinary Medicine, and a married, active father of two. He enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors and believes in having a healthy work/life balance, which he says is a little easier said than done.

Juliann started her career in the veterinary field in 2010 in general practice, obtained her Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2012 and transitioned over to dermatology full time in 2013. Juliann received her VTS in Dermatology in July 2017 and is an active member of the ADVT.
Juliann enjoys working with her clients and patients on a daily basis in helping to manage chronic skin and ear diseases and improve the quality of life of not only her patients, but her clients as well. She is passionate about client education and enjoys the area of immune mediated skin diseases.
Juliann lives with her husband, 3 children, Chihuahua, and Bernese Mountain Dog in Rocklin, CA.

Dr. Meagan Painter is a Board Certified Veterinary Dermatologist® practicing at Angell-West in Greater Boston, MA. She graduated Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Animal Medical Center in 2015. For the three years thereafter, she practiced as a resident in veterinary dermatology with Veterinary Healing Arts in East Greenwich, RI and the Animal Dermatology Group in California. Dr. Painter proudly achieved Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2018 after completing residency training, publication, case report review, and a 2-day written certification examination. Prior to coming home to Boston, she practiced for two years in San Francisco, CA at the San Francisco Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Painter lives in the Boston area with her husband (Andrew, U.S. Coast Guard, retired), daughter (Claire, record holder for playground sprints, age 3.5 years), allergic cat (Stella), loyal house cat (Chips), and outstandingly adorable Boston Terrier (Pepper).
