Neuro Patient Care Tips and Tricks
Caring for neurologic patients doesn’t have to be a headache! Patients with neurologic disease often require specific and intensive care to support recovery and prevent secondary injury. This lecture reviews common neurologic conditions and provides insight and guidance in nursing care interventions for these patients. Attendees will learn patient handling techniques, key monitoring parameters, and general complication prevention to improve patient outcomes and build confidence in caring for these patients for veterinary professionals.

Seizures in General Practice: What to Do in the First 60 Minutes
Seizures are the most common neurologic reason a dog is presented to a veterinarian! There are a number of things that can be confused for a seizure, and we will go over ways to distinguish a seizure vs other. In this lecture, we will also go over initial stabilization and diagnostics, what you need in the first 15 minutes. Then, we will talk about underlying causes of seizures and longer-term management of seizures.

Could this be a brain tumor? Navigating Canine Brain Tumor Management as a General Practitioner
In this session, we will discuss how the general practitioner can navigate case management for patients in which a brain tumor is one possible differential diagnosis. Using case vignettes, the participant can expect to develop a toolkit for neurolocalizing, building a differential diagnosis list from a patient-centered focus, managing patients with suspected or confirmed brain tumors, and guiding pet owners with honest, clear, and compassionate communication surrounding a brain tumor diagnosis.
