Why is that Pet Itchy? A Case-Based Approach to Diagnosing and Treating Pruritus
Allergic dermatitis is one of the most common reasons for pet owners to bring their dog or cat to the veterinarian. Itch and secondary infection can be challenging to diagnose and treat. This case-based discussion will highlight anti-pruritic therapies, primary disease vs secondary signs, and allergy-mimickers that should be remembered and ruled out before diagnosing a pet with atopy.
The audience will learn:
– Common anti-pruritic therapeutics, indications, benefits and risks.
– Step-wise approach for diagnosis and treatment of allergic skin disease, including flea, food, and environmental allergies, as well as other common non-allergic skin diseases that can cause pruritus.
– Recognition and treatment of secondary problems seen with allergies, including otitis externa, pyoderma and paronychia.

Fear Free Dermatology
Many small animal dermatology patients require long-term treatment for chronic diseases. The patient’s fear of the veterinarian and the client’s perception of distress during exams are barriers to clinical success, impeding the clinician’s ability to evaluate lesions during difficult exams as well as lack of exams when clients forgo recheck visits. This discussion presents techniques and videos for maximizing your dermatologic and otoscopic exams and procedures, while minimizing the anxiety level of patients, clients, and staff alike, eventually leading to happy, long-lasting relationships.

My Favorite Local/Regional Blocks Part 2
Local anesthetic drugs are effective, easy to use and inexpensive. The use of local/regional blocks improves anesthetic safety and makes the patient more comfortable, even after the block has worn off. So why don’t we use the blocks more? Maybe we just need someone to show us how! The lecture will cover a step-by-step description and video demonstration of local blocks that can be used in any practice.

How to Compete With Online Pharmacies
Dr. Wilson loathes approving online pharmacy requests. Besides draining his income, the piles of faxes and emails consume an hour every day, which is precious time away from revenue-generating patient care. During the pandemic, 31% of Americans bought drugs from internet pharmacies for the first time. Chewy added more than 5 million customers and grew sales 45%. The competition is about to get worse. Amazon has entered the pharmacy business (and 65% of Americans are Prime members).
What you’ll learn:
• Why you need to drop everything and secure your hospital’s pharmacy
• The #1 pharmacy operation mistake that costs you thousands
• Whether you should match prices
• Drive pharmacy sales with a combination of in-clinic sales, curbside pickups, and online store
• Get templates for text, app, and email messages to promote refills and auto shipments

Anesthesia & Analgesia for Fractious/ Aggressive patients
Fractious & aggressive patients can be very difficult and dangerous to anesthetize. Not only do they present a danger to the veterinarians and staff, they also generally require a much larger dose of sedative/anesthetic drugs than calmer patients require. Since the adverse effects of sedative/anesthetic drugs are primarily dose-dependent, this puts these patients at a higher risk for anesthesia-related adverse events. Administration of drugs at the patient’s home prior to the veterinary visit, supportive handling of the patient once it arrives at the clinic and the use of appropriate sedative/analgesic/anesthetic drugs and dosage will be discussed.

It’s How Much? Show Value for Fees
Although veterinary spending is growing thanks to Millennials, pet owners still want “good deals” on their pets’ medical care. You need to be PROUD of your prices and let clients understand the quality of your care. If your team does a better job of communicating value for fees, more pet owners will say YES to treatments. Packed with real-life scenarios and scripts, you’ll learn ways to show value:
• When talking with a price shopper
• When explaining preventive care services
• When sharing medication costs
• When presenting treatment plans for dental and surgical procedures
• When collecting payment

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don’t look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn’t anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.
